Our Story

Welcome to Flura!

I’m Adam, a product designer with 18 years of experience in the beauty and home industry. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of creating beautiful, considered products that people welcome into their homes. But it wasn’t until I faced a deeply personal challenge that I found my true calling.

My daughter, lives with autism, and like many others on the spectrum, she experiences intense anxiety, especially at night. Watching her struggle with sleep and restlessness was incredibly hard as a parent. I began researching natural ways to soothe her anxiety, and that’s when I discovered the powerful, mood-enhancing benefits of essential oils.

Through trial, error, and a lot of love, I started blending oils and creating calming rituals for her and I saw how much they helped. This is when I realised that I could take what I’d learned (both professionally and personally)  and create something that might help others too.

That’s how this candle business began. I combined my background in design with my passion for wellbeing, using plant-based waxes and essential oils to craft products that do more than just smell good, they support emotional balance, calm, and healing.

And I didn’t do it alone. My brother, Ben, is the co-founder of our business, making this a true family venture. With nearly two decades of experience supporting start-ups throughout his career, Ben brings a deep understanding of business growth, innovation, and the power of purpose-led work. His guidance and belief in our mission have been instrumental from day one.

Every candle we make is a reflection of our shared values — family, wellbeing, and thoughtful design. Whether you're navigating anxiety, looking to wind down, or simply craving a peaceful moment in your day, we hope these scents can be a source of comfort — just as they were for my daughter.
